GREEN POWER GARDEN

GREEN POWER GARDEN April 1, 2019  Message from Molly

Ladies and Gentlemen, It’s APRIL!  How did this happen?  Time is just flying by. The warm weather has brought out the robins and spring peepers (and orange construction barrels).

Last week we started our Flower Power Fundraiser and have sold $69 dollars worth of flowers and bulbs as of this email. Keep sharing with your family and friends. We haven’t done this in a few years and we are short a bunch of hand tools, gloves etc.

Last week we also shared seeds with a family from St Mary’s who is volunteering to plant four flats of kale and collard greens in a sunny window, raise them right and send or bring them to the garden when they are all grown up. Cari started Brussels sprouts, I started eggplant and leeks, and the Lufter family donated seeds for beans, rectangular zucchini, cantaloupe, carrots, sun flowers and tomatoes.

We have our first plant pick up Sunday May 19th from St. James and our first group from St. John’s is scheduled for Tuesday, May 21st during our work-night.  We also have at least one group on the calendar for every week in June.

Keep spreading the word about what we do and why.  And, we will talk again May 1st (which already feels like it’s a week away).

Peace!

Molly
